Signing up creates your Organization, your Testspace account, and makes you its owner. You can sign up on the Testspace website or through the GitHub Marketplace.

Website and Plans

Sign-up starts on the pricing page: choose a plan, and the sign-up options follow.

Account Sign up

A free plan, or a plan that starts with a trial, asks for no card when you sign up. Other paid plans ask for a card at the last step. The owner can change the plan later on the Account tab (Plan).

Sign-Up Options

OptionYou sign in withAfter sign-up
Sign up with Emailyour email address and a passwordThe Organization has no service connected: New Project creates a Standalone Project.
Sign up with GitHub, Bitbucket or GitLabthat accountTestspace takes you through connecting the Organization to that service, for Connected Projects.

The account you sign in with and the services your Organization is connected to are separate. An Organization that signed up with Email can connect GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket later, and then create Connected Projects too (Integrations). Connecting a service doesn't change existing Standalone Projects.

Email

  1. Click Sign up with Email.
  2. Enter your organization subdomain (see Choosing the Subdomain) and your email address, then click SUBMIT.
  3. Testspace sends an activation email (Almost done!). Click the link in it. If it doesn't arrive, check your spam folder, or use Send the activation email again.
  4. On the Welcome form, enter your full name, a username and a password (and, for a paid plan without a trial, your card), then click COMPLETE.

You land on your Organization's Projects tab, signed in.

Choosing the Subdomain

The subdomain is your Organization's address, <subdomain>.testspace.com, and the start of every Testspace URL you share or publish to. The Organization's display name starts as the subdomain in title case (my-org becomes My Org). The owner can change both later on the Account tab (Organization Profile); changing the subdomain changes the address, and the old one stops working.

GitHub

  1. Click Sign up with GitHub and authorize Testspace on GitHub.
  2. On the Sign Up with GitHub form, enter your organization subdomain; the email address comes from your GitHub account. Click SUBMIT. (A paid plan without a trial asks for your card first.)
  3. Testspace then connects your new Organization to GitHub: authorize it, and install the Testspace App on your personal account or on a GitHub organization.

The GitHub organizations where the App is installed are listed on the Account tab under Services, and their repositories are available to New Project. To install the App on another GitHub organization, use the click here link there. See Integrations.

Members

If you aren't an owner of the GitHub organization, installing the App sends its owners a request. Until one of them approves, the organization is listed under Services with The Testspace App installation is pending approval from the GitHub organization owner.

GitHub Marketplace

Buying Testspace on the GitHub Marketplace creates a new Organization for the GitHub account or organization that bought it:

  • The Organization is named after the GitHub account, and its subdomain is the account's name (with a suffix added if that subdomain is taken).
  • The person who bought it becomes the owner.
  • The Organization is connected to GitHub.
  • GitHub bills the plan (Payment).

To add GitHub to an Organization you already have, connect it from the Account tab instead (Integrations); a Marketplace purchase would create a second Organization.

Bitbucket

Click Sign up with Bitbucket and grant Testspace access to your Bitbucket account. Choose your organization subdomain as for GitHub. Testspace then connects the Organization to Bitbucket: check the workspaces to use under Services (Integrations).

GitLab

Click Sign up with GitLab and authorize Testspace to use your GitLab account. Choose your organization subdomain as for GitHub. Testspace then connects the Organization to GitLab: check the groups to use under Services (Integrations).
